What August Taught Me About Rooting Before Expanding
August has been a wild one for me. Honestly, it didn’t look the way I thought it would. I started the month feeling frustrated (with myself and the universe) and questioning myself. I kept asking, “Am I doing it all wrong? Why do I feel so stuck?”
Maybe you’ve been in that space too. That space of doubt where you wonder if you’re enough or if you’re showing up fully. That’s exactly where I was.
But here’s the lesson that came through for me this month:
If you expand too quickly and without roots you become a balloon that eventually floats away aimlessly. But, if you take the time to ground deep into who you are, deep into the earth and nature, then when you expand you become a big beautiful rooted tree. Sturdy, rooted into earth. Never floaty, never aimless, but grounded.
This hit me like a wave because it finally made sense why I was feeling stuck. It wasn’t about doing more or manifesting “better.” It was about being ready to fully hold myself. I realized the importance of preparing myself, of really anchoring into who I am, and letting the growth happen naturally from there.
So instead of pushing harder, I shifted my focus inward. I asked myself: Do I actually feel worthy of showing up fully for myself and embracing everything I am? On the surface, the answer was yes. Of course I feel worthy. But when I got really quiet, I uncovered a small part of me that didn’t fully believe that.
That was such an important moment because it helped me see what I couldn’t before. This part of me needed love and reassurance. She needed to know she was safe to receive, safe to grow, and safe to expand. August quickly became a season of slowing down, healing, and rooting deeply into myself.
Some practices that supported me and continue to support me through this process are:
Daily unblocking meditations – creating space to listen inward and feel safe in my own energy.
Reiki – letting energy flow and clearing old blocks to help me feel grounded.
Spending time with myself – truly hearing the voice of my guides and intuition without distractions.
My hope for you is this: If you’ve been feeling scattered, stuck, or unsure, maybe this is your invitation to root deeper into yourself. Build that foundation so when you expand, you do it as a big, beautiful, grounded tree.
Showing up fully for yourself and trusting your worth is the practice. Everything else — like manifestations, opportunities, and growth — will naturally reflect that inner work.
Here’s to a more grounded end of the year. <3
